New York Fashion Week

We love Fashion Weeks, and New York Fashion Week was such a great start! The stages for the shows are always a big part for us, and this year we loved how many labels held more cosy and intimate shows, serenading the audience with song and mood. Tommy Hilfiger then took that cosiness and pumped it with a carnival feel with countless rides and plenty of food. The atmosphere of these shows is on another level, but possibly the most exciting aspect of many, including Gigi Hadid's beautiful instantly shoppable collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, is the ability to instantly shop the collections - brilliant!! This is a sure sign of how technology and fashion are constantly changing the world around us. We cannot wait to see what the other shows have in store for us!

Our Fashion Month Picks!

Going for a completely packed blog entry today, we have decided to combine our picks from the New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in one post! Surely you will agree that the past month was filled with truly beautiful creations. We especially loved the incredible stages each city's runways turned into during Fashion Week. From the cinema experience (complete with popcorn!) staged by Marc Jacobs in New York, to Anya Hindmarch's symmetrical optical illusions seen in London, to Dolce & Gabbana's selfie girls in Milan, and of course the Paris shows that saw Chanel in their own airport lounge, Louis Vuitton's digital punk stage and Hussein Chalayan's show-stopping dissolving clothes.

It was also great to see the environment play a big part in designer collections as seen with Vivienne Westwood's "Fash Mob" demonstration before her SS16 show. We also loved how Christopher Raeburn keeps sustainability at the heart of fashion with his SS16 show and how Dior planted half a million bluebells to create a biodynamic set for their latest collection in Paris.

Stella McCartney's new collection was another winner in our eyes, as were Missoni and Jacquemus' playfully colourful pieces (not forgetting that white horse!). Wardrobe classics from Ralph Lauren, Boss and Trussardi were great to see, as of course were the abundance of must have bows and accessories seen throughout. It might not come as a complete surprise however that we absolutely loved the Chloé SS16 collection with it's sophisticated sportswear influenced pieces matched with innocent feminine light fabrics and bows.

With our new collection almost here, fashion weeks well on their way and the glamours Oscars just around the corner, this must be one of our favourite times of the year. As we are preparing to start showing you our new collection pieces we cannot help but share what we loved seeing at New York Fashion Week! So without further ado here are the styles we could not get enough of this week xx

New York

It has been a while since there was some proper entries on here so what else could be a better topic than my recent visit to New York city? Having spent the past weeks there, I am still feeling the great buzz of it all! Especially as the Earth Couture concept got such a great response. While spreading the Earth Couture word I had the pleasure of meeting Julie Gilhart (pictured below).

As the fashion director of Barneys New York with a passion for more ethical fashion, this was quite simply the most amazing experience ever! We talked not only about the problems that currently face ethical fashion but also the great opportunities that need to come of a greenerfashion industry. Truly a discussion of green power!

Along with meeting Julie Gilhart, I also had the pleasure of meeting with all the other major department stores in New York city...and although I cannot discuss future stockists as of yet, I can confirm the very exciting news that Earth Couture will be entering the US markets soon!
