New collection! New stockist!

Since Pure London we have been busy with numerous exciting changes here at Earth Couture... Firstly, the new Autumn Winter Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture collection is now available online! This includes the pieces mentioned in our previous blog that have also caught the eye of Vogue.com. As Kelly mentioned in a recent interview, classic key pieces in neutral colours work brilliantly in fashion as they can be mixed and layered to create different looks. This is exactly what her new collection is all about - classic layers. These pieces are all perfect for lounging with friends, shopping in town and travelling. Mentioned as a new luxury travel wear collection by the Financial Times Style and worn by celebrities including Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, you really cannot go wrong with this collection! Kelly Hoppen interview:

What do you need to look out for when you are buying clothes to ensure you are not just paying for a name?

“I always look to quality, the feel of the fabric and the craftsmanship. You can tell straight away if a garment is badly made.”

What pieces should you invest in and what can you get away with paying less for?

“I always invest in key pieces, coats, boots, bags etc. A great cashmere sweater mixed with a pair of trousers from the high street – it’s all about mixing it up.”

What are your top tips when shopping for clothes?

“Don’t just follow trends. Buy items that not only suit you, but also fit you properly.”

What key pieces should we be buying this autumn?

“As soon as autumn arrives, for me, it is all about enveloping myself in textures. Great knitwear, layered T-shirts and, of course, clothes for the home.”

You have a unique style when it comes to interior design. How can you translate this into clothes?

“I have maintained my love of neutrals. I think that they work brilliantly in fashion, especially, in the fabrics that I have chosen for the collection. It is about being relaxed and comfortable.”

How can you look stylish without being a slave to fashion?

“Develop your own personal style and update it with new pieces that reflect your style values.”

Many women live in neutrals such as black. How do you inject colour into your wardrobe?

“As with my interiors, I highlight with flashes of colour. Inject a little spice with a coloured top or perhaps accessories, a great bag etc.”

You have used vintage pieces in design. Do you think that this should translate into fashion?

“Of course, nothing screams style more than a well thought out vintage piece. I have so many dresses from many years ago that still to this day look modern. It’s all about choosing classics. Classics do not date.”

Why did you decide to launch Earth Couture?

“I decided to partner with Earth Couture as I had always been interested in fashion and when the opportunity arose I was thrilled to accept. The charity element of the brand cemented the deal. With every purchase a mosquito coil is given to a child in Africa.”

Where do you see fashion heading?

“Fashion will always keep coming around, but with a new twist.”

Press Breakfast at Harrods

Apologies for the lack of entries over the past months – things have been a bit hectic! This therefore calls for a proper entry of our latest event, the Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture press breakfast at Harrods in Knightsbridge! You might have already read some bits and pieces in the press about the event that took place last Thursday, but here is the roundup of the morning with some photos...

Starting with preparations early last Thursday morning, the models were dressed with pieces from the latest Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture collection while the remainder of the collection was displayed beautifully in the centre of Harrods swim room on the first floor. Check out the photos below to get a view of the models looking great in some of the new pieces as well as Kelly with her new collection...

We then spent the morning meeting and showing Kelly’s newest collection to press. While discussing the gorgeous new collection, and the celebrity fans such as Victoria Beckham it has already gathered, Earth Couture's ethical commitment was not forgotten. With every sale of Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture, we at Earth Couture donate much-needed mosquito coils to families in Nigeria helping to protect them from life-threatening diseases such as malaria, to which young children are particularly vulnerable. Needless to say, we could not have been more excited to talk about the collection and our ethical stance with the likes of Vogue, The Telegraph, Stella, Harper’s Bazaar, and Bang Showbiz to name but a few! As hinted in the photos above, we are bringing in more colours for the new season! Don’t you just love the combination of the KH7 extra long sleeveless top in powder blue with the loose KH11 drawstring waist charcoal trousers on the model pictured below?? With powder blue, dusty pink and deep purple among the list of new colours, please do keep your comments coming in to let us know which one is your favourite!
