New Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture!

Over the past weeks we have been busy preparing the new Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture collections. As some of you already know, the new pieces have even caught the eye of Vogue.com! The Fashion Conscience titled blog describes the collection as perfect travel and lounge wear. Here are some of the exciting new looks:

Left: Look 3. KH 14 Cropped bodice long sleeved top with thumb holes and fold detail on hems in taupe with KH 23 Short rib dress with raw edges in dark khaki and KH 16 Roll top trousers with coverstitch detailing and logo on centre back in taupe.

Right: Look 13. KH 27 Sweatshirt with raw edges in grey melange with KH 29 Sweat hareem pants in grey melange and KH 7 Extra long sleeveless racer back top with unfinished roll hem and armholes in dusty pink.

Expanding from this then comes the more colorful East meets West collection for next year. Below is a sneak peek of what to expect from the new collection! As we only recently shot the collection the rest of the photos will be available shortly but Kelly herself has added some more great 'on set' images to her blog entry that can be read here!

Having spent the past few days exhibiting at the Pure trade show in Olympia, we have been meeting with both new and existing customers and it has been great so far to say the least! Tomorrow is the last day so do pop by our stand, A 56, to check out Earth Couture's new spring summer 2011 offerings as well as the gorgeous Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture collection. Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture launch

Last week we had the exciting launch of the Kelly Hoppen for Earth Couture collection. Taking place at Kelly's gorgeous Notting Hill home, we spent the day introducing the pieces to many famous faces including Beverley Knight, Katie Nicholl, Lisa Snowdon, Tamsin Outhwaite, Yasmin Mills and Emma Crosby. Towards the end of the day we also managed to get a few great snaps of them already loving the collection!

New York

It has been a while since there was some proper entries on here so what else could be a better topic than my recent visit to New York city? Having spent the past weeks there, I am still feeling the great buzz of it all! Especially as the Earth Couture concept got such a great response. While spreading the Earth Couture word I had the pleasure of meeting Julie Gilhart (pictured below).

As the fashion director of Barneys New York with a passion for more ethical fashion, this was quite simply the most amazing experience ever! We talked not only about the problems that currently face ethical fashion but also the great opportunities that need to come of a greenerfashion industry. Truly a discussion of green power!

OUR COMMITMENT - Donating Mosquito Coils

Yesterday was a great day - we distributed 240 boxes of mosquito coils to a school with underprivileged children in Nigeria, Africa. As each box contains 10 mosquito coils, a total of 2400 mosquito coils went out yesterday for much needed use.

As recently stated by UNICEF, malaria is a serious health problem that is behind 20% of child deaths in Africa. In Nigeria alone this preventable disease kills just under 500,000 children each year. Hence our work for donating mosquito coils is increasingly important. Although there are many different types of insect repellents available, mosquito coils are a traditional but more importantly also the most trusted mosquito repellent. The coils burn like incense and produce a light smoke that is very low toxicity to mammals while being a highly effective repellent for mosquitoes and other flying insects.

Each coil lasting between 8-10 hours, they help provide a peaceful nights sleep to these children, enabling them to have better concentration levels and learn more at school the following day.
